I was driving up to the Orange County Auto Show on Saturday Morning. As I was driving up the I-5 through Camp Pendleton, I saw this driving along.

Kinja'd!!!

It had some sort of heathen foreign license plate on it.

I’ve never seen a SEAT in the US before. It was kind of neat to see one.

The Spanish translation of Volkswagen is pronounced “SEAT”.

It’ll be Mexican. They are great little cars. Think VW Golf with a large boot (trunk for the American English out there)but a smaller price tag.

Kinja'd!!!

Very very similar to the Skoda Rapid

In America, we have Toledo, Ohio.

It’s a very boring place.

And the newspaper there is called The Blade, which is an attempt to make Ohio seem more like medieval Spain. Not sure it works.

Probably from Mexico City, where even the tdis make the air cleaner.

The Rapid (NH3) and the Toledo (NH) as it turns out are made at the same plant in the Czech Republic and made on the new Ao5+ platform.

Was that not derived from the PQ platform polo with a beam axle at the rear?

Yeah, we see neat cars from Mexico that we don’t get all the time in San Diego. SEATs, Renaults, odd VWs, and cool small commercial vehicles.

Looked up the PQ series platforms and the AO series platforms and again as it turns out they are one an the same just different name. Meaning the AO5+ is the PQ25 platform only the AO5+ is a newer version of the AO5.

Kinja'd!!!

I noticed the Indian market only Rapid was basically a saloon Fabia Mk2.

Toledo (the original) is on the other hand supposed to be something of a tourist trap.

I did, in fact, go down to the Exotic Level. I wish I’d have known who your were, to say “Hi!”.
